During pregnancy a women’s musculoskeletal system goes through tremendous changes over a very short period of time. These changes can create muscle imbalances throughout the entire body. Of particular concern are the muscles of the abdominals and pelvic floor. When left untreated, dysfunction in these areas can cause problems for years. Including, but not limited to, incontinence, pelvic pain, painful sex, constipation, low back pain, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), and hernia.
While it is true that these conditions are common, they are anything but normal. Unfortunately, many women are dismissed by their care providers and told that these conditions are normal, that this is their new body, and that they should just learn to live with it. This leaves them feeling broken, ashamed, helpless, and confused. Many women will look to the internet for answers, which may leave them feeling even more confused. There is much false information about these conditions. The core-to-floor-restore program allows women to sift through the noise and recover the strength that has always been theirs.
